Trainer Guide
What are my duties as Trainer?
It's quite simple - a trainer is responsible for training new recruits! For Trial Trainers, you will need to train at least three recruits in order to get promoted to Trainer I. This is in place so you can gain the knowledge and experience needed to comfortably train recruits. In saying this, when you are training, please be aware that Training Supervisors from our TS Special Unit may sometimes come in to supervise you - don't be afraid and don't refuse a supervision as they are only there to help you! Make sure you try your best and give it your best shot!
What do Training Supervisors look for? How can I do my best?
Training Supervisors ensure that you are representing NSA well and that you are doing your best!
Never skip any part of the script no matter what!
When you're delivering the script, allow enough time for the recruit to be able to read what is being said - don't go too fast or too slow.
Always act professional and answer the recruit's questions to the best of your ability.
Always try to be patient with the recruit and give them time to answer any questions you ask them.
Remain friendly and welcoming - this can be as simple as adding smiley faces or hearts to create a welcoming atmosphere!
Be creative when you're delivering the script (use bold and different colored chats to make the training session more engaging!)

How do I know when to pass or fail a recruit?
Failing a Recruit:
Recruits must be given three warnings before being marked as Failed (If they AFK before or during the test, they automatically fail). If they fail the training session, they will have to retake the training.
When training, watch out for if the recruit...
Is walking around and/or talking while you are delivering the script
Is disrespectful and unprofessional
Is trolling
Does not abide by NSA's rules (such as Dress Code)
Goes AFK before or during the test (Immediate Fail)
If the recruit does any of the above, you must give them a warning. If the recruit receives three warnings, they fail the training session and will have to be retrained.
Also note that the recruit must be marked as Failed if they cannot answer at least 3 out of the 5 questions right during the test, or if they cannot name three of NSA's rules. If this happens, remember to show the recruit the correct answer so that they will be more aware the next time they are trained.
Logging a Fail on Portal:
When logging a failed recruit, always add why you failed them in the Additional Comments section of the log!
Passing a Recruit:
If the recruit does not do any of the above and maintains a respectful behavior, they pass the training! Remember, always try to give the recruit some encouragement if they are struggling.
What happens if my recruit passes the test but leaves before going over the Pay and/or FTF rules?
If a recruit passes the test but leaves before you cover the Pay and/or FTF rules, you may pass them - however, make sure to find them later in base to go over the Pay/FTF rules, or let someone know in the #trainer-hub channel on Slack!
Reminders:
You should always keep these pointers in mind when it comes to training!
Always allow Trial Trainers to have the seat at FTT. This way, it can allow them to gain experience and to be more comfortable with training recruits.
Never steal recruits from anyone. The person in the main seat in FTT always has priority to train, unless they allow you to.
Before training, check if there is a vacant training room. NEVER train in the Training Hallway even if the rooms are full.
Always change the lights above the teleports before and after training!
Use the #trainer-hub channel on Slack for important trainer-related reminders, announcements, and discussions!
When you are about to train a recruit, ensure they can speak and fully understand proper English. It is not acceptable for them to be using Google Translator or for you to be translating everything for them, we like our sessions to be efficient and professional!
